The wrong groove
Synopsis
The needle skips and they fall between grooves. Every groove is a different record drawn in a different animation, and they are drawn in it too. If the side ends while they are in the wrong one, they stay that way.
Plot
The one thing that does not change in any groove is the frayed piece of cord on Malios's wrist, left over from the town where favours tied you to people. That is how Kenya finds him: she does not look for his face, she looks for his wrist. And in the groove where everything is a little better than it should be, the cord is not there, because in that one he never took the favour. Which is how he knows it is not his. There are two cats. Nobody says so.
