Synopsis
A stadium that is a mouth: the diamond is a tongue, the bases are molars, the stands sweat enamel and the sky is a palate. Nobody mentions it.
Plot
The rule, shown whole: a record only plays here if it has grooves, and the only grooved things in the stadium are made of somebody. Skin takes a groove; vinyl does not. And how it comes off is shown before it matters: peel it and the side it was cut from goes with it. What she wants, out loud before the forty eighth second: Kenya wants a record that actually plays. The one she put on is swollen, cooked, and has no grooves at all.

El Septimo, alone in a small kitchen at three in the morning, in a tracksuit with no cap and his paper tail gone, stirs a pot on a single ring. What is turning over in it is a tiny baseball diamond, the tongue and the molars softening apart into the broth. He drops a single strike made of noodle in and watches it sink.
Trivia and continuity
El Septimo is furniture: half man, half seventh inning, knuckles made of baseballs and a thick tail of printed speech that sheds raw pieces on the floor. Nobody names him, nobody presents him, nobody has an opinion about him: they complain that it sticks to their shoes. He does not move the plot, and he does not know the game could end. He thinks he is working. The cat steals a piece of raw speech, the only thing it takes in the whole series that is not an object, and it turns up in the Rocola it builds for the season finale.
